Renew after engineering businesses

Renew, the company that includes Allenbuild and VHE, is after more bolt-on acquisitions for its specialist engineering business.

This division carries out work in the nuclear, land remediation and water sectors and Renew chairman Roy Harrison told the group’s AGM that it was looking to strengthen it further.

He said: “In line with our strategy, management is continuing to pursue suitable acquisitions.”

Mr Harrison said trading in the first quarter has been satisfactory and that results will be in line with expectations. He said the order book at the end of 2007 stood at £261 million.

The group’s interim results will be announced on 20 May.
