Road scheme


The Highways Agency has issued a notice in the Official Journal for a £231 million contract to widen the M1 in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.The early contractor involvement scheme will stretch from junction 6a, near Watford, to junction 10 at Luton. Firms have until June 2 to ask for tenders.

Construction is due to start in autumn 2005.
