Safer steel

The steelwork sector has halved its injury frequency rate over the past fou r years, with no deaths in the past 12 months, the British Constructional Steelwoork Association has said. In 2000, BCSA companies reported a rate of 1.9 injuries per 100,000 working hours. The f igure has fallen to 0.9 in the latest accident survey.
