Salford council homes in line for £200m upgrade

More than £200 million will be spent on refurbishing council homes in Salford over the next five years, the city council has said this week.

The investment is part of a 30-year programme to invest £900 million in the city’s 15,000 properties after City West Housing Trust took over as registered landlord on 6 October.

Meanwhile, plans to develop a £100 million private finance initiative for 2,000 current council-owned homes in Pendleton are currently being examined by Government.

A decision is expected this autumn.
