Samsung stays committed

EARTHMOVING manufacturer Samsung is pressing ahead with its product development in the wake of the closure of its UK factory.

Senior sales manager Nick Rose said the company's commitment to the construction industry is still strong, despite the ongoing financial crisis in Korea and severe cost-cutting measures at its parent company. Mr Rose said: 'We have a product development plan that goes beyond 2000 and we have booked stand space at Bauma and SED.'

Mr Rose said UK customers would benefit from the establishing of a new parts centre in Kettering, which will open in the first quarter of next year.
