Sander is reinvented

PLANT

HIRETECH has developed what it claims is the next generation of belt sanders.

The sander enables the contractor to set the drum speed to the application. The HT8 Multispeed has four speeds, including a low rpm that promises sanding so gentle the drum does not have to be lifted from the f loor after finishing.

Speaking at the Hire Show, Hiretech managing director Mark Rogers said: 'It allows professional operators to work the high spots on a floor without fear of gouging or ruining the belt. But it will also allow people who may have been put off sanding in the past to adjust to the speed that suits them.' The sander flashes a maintenance reminder after 300 hours of use.

Mr Rogers said: 'It will help hire shops because they can ensure that it gets a good goingover at regular intervals.' The four speed set-up is also retrofittable to the conventional HT8 machines, allowing hirers to convert their fleets.
