School meals trust aims to improve quality and choice

Parents are to be given more chances to make sure that school meals are healthier, Education Secretary Ruth Kelly said today.
A school meals trust is being launched with the aim of improving the quality of school meals and giving parents the chance to make healthier choices for their children in the school canteen.

The trust will advise cooks and head teachers on how to make meals healthier at a time of fear about rising levels of childhood obesity.
