Schools earmarked for £24m upgrade

Renfrewshire Council is inviting bids for a school redevelopment programme worth up to £24 million.

Three Renfrewshire schools - the Park Mains, Johnstone and Renfrew high schools - are earmarked for refurbishment works and extensions, with each project expected to cost abot £8 million.

Though contractors are required to submit seperate bids for each school, the council says it may later invite package bids.

The Renfrew and Park Mains projects are both earmarked to start this July and take until December next year and June 2010 respectively. The Johnstone High School scheme is exected to take 13 months from this August.

The deadline for requests to participate is Wednesday 30 April.
