Schools missing digital-age track, professor warns

Schools risk becoming increasingly irrelevant to children because they are failing to adapt to the digital age, an academic warned today.
Computer games and internet chat rooms help pupils develop vital skills, said Professor David Buckingham from London's Institute of Education.

But in his inaugural lecture Prof Buckingham said few teachers use new technology in the classroom despite massive Government investment.
