Scotland Inverness bids invited


THE HIGHLAND Council is asking contractors to prequalify for a £15 million Private Finance Initiative deal to replace four schools in Inverness.

A bidders conference will be held in the council chambers inInverness tomorrow (Friday). The deadline for submissions of interest is January 7, 2000.

The council will draw up a short list of between three and five firms to price the concession.

The project comprises the replacement of Glenurquhart high school, Ardnamurchan secondary school, and Tomatin and Spean Bridge primary schools.

The winning firm will also be required to run the schools for 25 years.
