Search for Olympic Velopark advisor and designer launched

The London Development Agency has launched a search for designers and construction experts for a Velopark in east London as part of London's bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The LDA is letting a host of contracts on behalf of the Government, to progress work for London's bid. A search for the Olympic Park designer has already begun.

The Velopark will contain cycling facilities including a velodrome and an international standard BMX racing track.

A designer for the Velopark will be appointed regardless of whether London wins the bid and is backed by Sport England, the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, Transport for London and the London Development Agency.

An accredit specialist panel of demolition and remediation contractors is also sought for the project to monitor the environmental impact of the work.
