Self-build housing slowdown will boost sector

The construction slowdown could be good news for the self-build homes business specialist firm BuildStore said this week.

BuildStore, which supplies self-build loans and guidance to homebuyers, said the value of its self-build total loans during 2007 increased by over ten per cent compared to the year before.

It said the slowdown in construction activity means that both skilled and unskilled construction workers are more readily available, making projects easier to get underway.
