Selfridges windows sealed after asbestos discovery

Selfridges has closed the world-renowned window display in its flagship London store after asbestos was found during a survey of the building.

It is understood the substance was discovered about three weeks ago in five of the main windows of the Oxford Street store.

The windows were sealed immediately and the asbestos panels were removed last week.

It is expected they will have to be closed for a month while work is done to rebuild the window frames.
