Seven fims in race for £193m Brum library

A shortlist of seven architects for the design of the new £193 million Library of Birmingham has been announced.

The list includes Foreign Office Architects, Foster and Partners, Hopkins Architects, Mecanoo, OMA, Schmidt Hammer Lassen and Wilkinson Eyre.

More than 100 firms worldwide submitted designs for the project. An appointment is expected to be made during the summer.
