Severfield confident of good year

Steel contractor Severfield-Rowen continued to build on record profits achieved in 2004, with trading so far this year in line with expectations.
Severfield's forward order book and enquiry levels so far this year have been strong and every operating subsidiary is trading well, chairman Peter Levine told the Annual General Meeting this morning.

Atlas Ward, which it bought in April has progressed well and its integration into the business is ahead of schedule.

Severfield produced a 20 per cent jump in turnover to £204.3 million last year up from £170.2 million in 2003. Pre-tax profits rocketed 34 per cent to £12.2 million from £9.1 million in the previous 12 months.
