SHARE WATCH: Mixed morning for construction shares as pound falls

It was a mixed morning for construction shares as the pound fell to record lows this morning.

The FTSE 350 Construction and Materials index fell 0.9 per cent to 3,343 points, but the FTSE 350 Support Services index was up 0.5 per cent to 2,758 points.

All of the industry’s publicly listed building materials firms saw their share price drop.

But in contrast all the plant hire firms were up in early trading.

The FTSE 100 was hovering around the same price it opened today at 4,277 points.
