Shepherd Construction CEO leaves after reshuffle

Shepherd Construction’s chief executive Vaughan Burnand is leaving the company after 16 years following a group board restructure, the York-based contractor announced today.

Under the changes the chief executive of the Shepherd Group’s engineering arm SES, Allan McDougall, has been appointed to the position of divisional chief executive within the construction and engineering division. This will include overseeing both SES and Shepherd Construction.

A group statement added: “Allan has led SES since 1998. Earlier this year he handed over his executive responsibility for SES to Mark Perkins, who reports directly to the group chairman [Alan Fletcher].

“Mark now becomes chief executive, SES.”

Mr Burnand has been chief executive of Shepherd Construction since 2000, after joining as managing director in 1992.

The company said the changes would take place with immediate effect.
