Financier UBS has been granted planning permission for the £20 million refurbishment and extension of the Kingsway shopping centre in Newport, Gwent. Plans for the 1960s-bu i lt cent re include the complete refurbishment of the interior, new entrances and a glazed central square along with a food court and a 750-space multistorey car park.

Chester Properties is managing the scheme with demolition due to start in April and completion of the scheme scheduled for next summer.
