Shopping centre to be revamped

Hornsea Freeport, one of East Yorkshire’s most popular shopping destinations, is set to be given a £6 million revamp.

The scheme is planned in two phases, with the first to be completed by May 2008.

The first stage will see the refurbishment of the Pavilion Restaurant and the opening of five new stores. In the second phase, due to start when the first one is completed, could see a dozen new shops in the mall part of the development.

Houlton Construction and architects Gowers Bell are tasked with carrying out the latest development.
