Silverdell stripped the Festival Hall

LETTERS

Sir, In your article 'Hunt brings down the house', (Demolition, February 16), it appears to imply that John F Hunt was employed to carry out asbestos removal work on what many claim to be London's first Olympic venue, The Royal Festival Hall.

In fact these works were carried out exclusively by my company, Silverdell (UK), under contract to ISG.

Asbestos was located within walls and ceilings and had been used extensively throughout the building's services network ? the overall value of the removal was over £3 million.

The project has paved the way for new technology to be developed.
