Simplex awarded City of Arabia tower

India's Simplex Infrastructures has been awarded the AED171m ($47m) main construction contract for the Wadi Tower at City of Arabia in Dubailand.

The project involves the construction of a 30-storey residential building with a health club. Completion is expected by the end of 2010.

The client is Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group.

The contract is the latest to be awarded to Simplex at City of Arabia. In August it was awarded the main construction contract for the AED1.3bn G-Emporium project. That involves the construction of two 280-metre tall, 45-floor towers. One will be residential and the other offices. GIO Developments is the client (MEED 14:8:08).
