Six tender £35m Birmingham dental hospital

Big names line up for Edgbaston Lift scheme

Bam Construct, Interserve, Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Sindall, Skanska and Vinci are lining up for the chance to build a £35 million dental hospital in Birmingham, Construction News understands.

Bas Lift invited tenders last month for the hospital and school of dentistry on the corner of Pebble Mill Road and Bristol Road in Edgbaston.

Work is due to start on site in April and includes the construction of research & development and teaching facilities, ancillary office and support facilities, access, parking and landscaping.

An application for outline planning included 16,000 sqm of internal floorspace.

The building is targeting a BREEAM excellent rating.
