Skanska comes fifth in UK green companies

Skanska has been named fifth overall in the Sunday Times Best 50 Green Companies awards.

Employee survey results show that staff believe Skanska does all it can to minimise its eco impact, giving it a 75 per cent green score.

Staff also said they feel Skanska does a lot for the environment (79 per cent) and is very serious about this commitment (83 per cent).

The Swedish firm was the first in the global construction industry to achieve the international standard ISO14001 accreditation for its environmental management.

As well as being named fifth overall the company came second in the south-east.
