Skanska takes office

SKANSKA is set to secure a £40 million job to redevelop an office block in the heart of London's Square Mile.

The firm looks to have beaten Wates and HBG for the contract to refurbish the 15-storey Dashwood House building on Old Broad Street.

Developer Land Securities wants to reclad the tower and add two storeys to the building to increase the office space from 10,700 sq m to 14,600 sq m.

Plans have been drawn up by London-based architect Fletcher Priest.

Work is expected to start in the next few months, with completion planned for 2009.
