Skanska is preferred bidder for Bristol City Council's £113 million 10-year Building Schools for the Future programme, the first to be let under the Government-backed scheme.
Bristol is pioneering the BSF programme along with three other local authorities as part of the first of three waves which will be funded by £2.2 billion of capital investment every year for the next decade.
Under the deal, Skanska will revamp schools across the city. Work will include construction of new school buildings at Brislington Enterprise College, Speedwell Technology College, Hartcliffe Engineering Community College and Whitefield Community College - accommodating up to 5,000 students.
Skanska will also manage and operate facilities at the four sites over 25 years.
