Skanska wins £300m PFI project

Skanska has reached financial close on a £300 million PFI deal to revamp three hospitals in Nottinghamshire for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust.
Work will cover overhauling the Kings Mill Acute Hospital to provide a combined hospital with 28 wards, a diagnostic and treatment centre and emergency care assessment centre.

Mansfield Community Hospital will be refurbished to have a new main entrance and resource facility as well as revamped wards.

Maintenance and facilities management services at Newark General Hospital will be carried out under the deal.

Up to 60 per cent of new wards will be finished by 2009 with the total project set for completion in spring 2011.
