Skanska has won a £174 million contract from Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust to design, finance and extend the Manor Hospital.

The redevelopment of the hospital will include 40,000 sq m of new accommodation, taking the total number of beds to 558. Construction is scheduled to finish in summer 2011.

The PFI project company is co-owned by Innisfree, which has a 50 per cent stake.
