Plans for a £27 million scheme in South Wales to turn a freight railway line into a passenger service have finally started moving, a year behind schedule. Last week representatives from the shortlisted companies ? Amec Spie, Amey, Balfour Beatty, Jarvis, Mowlem and a joint venture between Hochtief and Alun Griff iths ? met to discuss the future of the Ebbw Valley Railway with Blaenau Gwent Council.
