Social housing gets £345m boost

Social housing has received a £345 million shot in the arm in two separate deals with Barclays Bank.

The Festival Housing Group has clinched £180 million of funding to kick start its plans to build 500 homes in Hertfordshire and Worcestershire, over the next two years, and 150 homes per year over the next decade.

Independent housing association Havebury has received £75 million to develop 91 affordable new homes in west Suffolk this year and a further £90 million to refinance an existing loan.
