Solar roof unveiled

MATERIALS

A ROOFING system that could slash home owners' energy bills has been launched by energy specialist Solarcentury.

The firm used the Interbuild show in Birmingham to unveil its Complete Solar Roof, which combines electrical charging tiles and thermal heating tiles. Solarcentury claimed the system is the world's first fully integrated solar roof.

The C21e photovoltaic tiles used in the system can generate 800 kWh of electricity per year, while its C21t thermal tiles can generate 60 per cent of hot water requirements for a three-bedroomed house, Solarcentury says.
