Sorouh invites firms to express interest in Al-Mashtal

Local developer Sorouh Real Estate has invited selected contractors to express interest in the contract to design and build the Al-Mashtal mixed-use development in the Khalidiyah area on Abu Dhabi island.

The project comprises seven 23 to 25-floor residential towers, three 18 to 21-floor office towers, a two-level retail podium, an entertainment area, a five-star hotel and three levels of basement parking. The total built-up area is 790,162 square metres.

Tenders are expected in the second quarter of 2009, with work expected to start on site later that year.

Final completion is expected by mid 2012. Enabling works and piling will be completed as separate packages.

The local office of KEO International Consultants is the project manager.

US-based Arquitectonica is the architect. UK-based Mouchel is the infrastructure design consultant
