IN BRIEF

The replacement of flaking paint used on the beleaguered Bath Spa project has been given the go-ahead.Warring parties Mowlem and Bath and North East Somerset Council have reached an agreement in which the contractor will repaint the pools.Mowlem will be paid on a 'cost plus profit' basis with Dutch sub-contractor Bovitec carrying out the work. The council has agreed to pay Mowlem £1 million to fund the works but will continue to pursue 'accountable parties' for recompense, with Mowlem thought to be a prime target.
