Speedy Hire grows margin as global sales rise 37pc

Speedy Hire has increased its margin both in the UK and abroad while international business has seen a 37 per cent hike in sales, it said today.

Releasing its interim management statement for the period 1 October 2012 to 12 February 2013, the UK’s largest provider of tools and equipment for hire and associated services said UK and Ireland revenue was up 2 per cent against the same period a year earlier.

That represents a year to date improvement of 2.2 per cent.

The international business saw Q3 revenue up 37 per cent against the same period in the prior year, a year to date improvement of 63 per cent.

It added: “Importantly both margins and returns have continued to improve across the group.”

The firm said performance in Q4 to date “enables the board to reiterate its confidence in meeting its expectations for the full financial year”.

The revenue total excludes the disposed accommodation business and before planned disposals of hire fleet.
