The Department of Trade and Industry has approved plans to break up and sell off British Nuclear Group and establish a new national nuclear laboratory. The BNG sale will be split into four key business areas:

Sellafield, Magnox sites, project services, and a 33 per cent stake in AWE, which manages the Aldermaston complex for the Ministry of Defence.
