Staff buy Kirkman and Jourdain for over £3m

Maintenance company Kirkman and Jourdain has been bought by three employees for over £3 million.

The Waltham Abbey-based company employs 40 people and offers maintenance services across the south east of England.

The buy-out was carried out by quantity surveyors Mark Downey and Paul Adams and contract manager Phil Hayward. Mr Downey, who has been with the business for 16 years, will act as managing director.

The company began in 1984 as a small maintenance shop.
