Starboard Hotels launches £50m plan in Burnley

A £50 million hotel development programme is set launch in Burnley, Lancashire with a new £7 million Holiday Inn Express.

The 102-bed hotel is the first of a national programme for hotel developer and operator Starboard Hotels. It will also include four air-conditioned meeting rooms, a licensed bar and café-style restaurant.

Managing director Paul Callingham said: "Burnley is the start of a series of mid-price hotels currently in the pipeline with hotels in Yorkshire, the north-east and West Midlands to follow."

The hotel is located on Pendle Way is due to open in September with the firm's second hotel due to open next February in Wetherby, Yorkshire.
