Step-by-step course targets ladder safety

PLANT

GLOUCESTERSHIRE firm Ladder & Fencing Industries has launched one of the first training courses in working with ladders for construction.

The one-day course aims to meet some of the concerns expressed over the correct use of ladders in the wake of the proposed Work at Height regulations.Recent HSE research showed that operative's ignorance of best practice was a major factor in ladder safety.

The £140 course will cover risk assessment, standards, inspection and operation and will included practical and theoretical tests.

LFI says that it can run tests at customers' premises for groups of more than 10.
