A £500 million project to redevelop Birmingham New Street Station has been unveiled. The Birmingham Gateway development is being worked up by project partners Network Rail, Birmingham City Council, Advantage West Midlands and Centro and will be developed using £350 million of public funding. After planning is secured, work could start as early as 2008.
