Styles & Wood appoints new non-executive chairman

Fit-out specialist Styles & Wood has appointed Jim Martin as non-executive chairman of the group.

Mr Martin, who comes into the role after Gerard Quiligotti stood down in June last year, has been the company’s senior independent director and chairman of its audit committee since October, 2006.

Chief executive Ivan McKeever said Mr Martin’s contribution to the business over the past two years had been "greatly valued".

Prior to his work with Styles & Wood, Mr Martin was chairman of Alexon Group and interim chairman and senior non-executive director at Redrow. He was also non-executive deputy chairman of N Brown Group, where he had been chief executive for 18 years.

Styles & Wood said the role of senior independent director would now be filled by Robert Hough, and Paul Mitchell would become the chairman of the audit committee.

The appointments are effective immediately.
