Super village gets green light

Stirling Council has given the go-ahead to plans for a super-village that will see some 2,500 homes being built.

A group of developers tried to stop the project from going ahead but the move was dismissed by the Court of Session in a written judgement.

The scheme, known as Durieshill, will also include three schools, a business park and a shopping complex. When completed it will be around the same size as Dunblane.

The Durieshill plans, which date back to 2003, would be developed at a site to the west of Plean and south of Pirnhall roundabout, on land by the M9 and the M80.
