Surgo in multi-contract wins

Surgo Construction has been appointed as the preferred contractor to carry out a £8 million refurbishment to the Whitley Bay Playhouse in Tyne and Wear.

The job will see the building completely stripped out and fully renovated. This includes new M&E installations, re-planning of the changing rooms and the construction of a small extension.

Under its partnering framework agreement with North Tyneside Council, the contractor has also been appointed to a number of schemes.

On projects in Chirton and Wallsend it is undertaking kitchen and bathroom upgrades on more than 300 houses as well as carrying out a programme of central heating and electrical refurbishments on a further 1,400 homes in the borough, all of which are being carried out while the properties remain occupied.
