M6 Toll road contractor Cambba is testing kerb lifting equipment from A-Plant and manufacturer Kwik Split for the 27 km route. The trial will test safety and efficiency of kerb laying using the Jumbo BV vacuum system, which attaches to the pallet forks of a loader. Along with reducing manual handling, the system can lift a 150 kg kerbstone 1 m, enabling the installation of up to 300 m of kerb a day, according to the hirer.
