TayWimp housing boss steps down

Chief executive of Taylor Wimpey’s UK housing division Ian Sutcliffe has left the firm it has been announced today.

Mr Sutcliffe has resigned from his role and stepped down from its board to join property investment and development firm Segro as its new managing director of its UK property division.

Mr Sutcliffe is expected to take up his new position by July.

Group chief executive Peter Redfern will now take on responsibility of its UK housing division. Mr Redfern was chief executive of George Wimpey prior to the £5 billion merger last summer.

Chairman Norman Askew said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Ian for his contribution to the Board and in particular for his work in leading the integration of our UK housing businesses following the merger of Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey in July 2007.”
