Taywood out of Olympic race

CONTRACTS - LONDON

TAYLOR Woodrow has missed out on its bid for the role of Olympic Delivery Authority delivery partner for the London 2012 Games.

The contractor was leading a team that included consultants EC Harris and Sinclair Knight Merz, as well as US engineer Parsons Brinkerhoff.

Fou r teams ? Bechtel, CLM (CH2M Hill International, Laing O'Rourke, Mace), Legacy (Bovis Lend Lease, Capita Symonds and Kellogg Brown & Root) and G3 (Amec, Balfour Beatty and Jacobs) ? will fight it out for the role.

The eventual delivery partner ? to be chosen in August ? will direct the planning and construction of the east London Olympic Park, and prepare for the aftermath of the Games.
