Teenager builder fatally crushed

A teenage builder has been crushed to death by a pallet of bricks.

Gareth Ritson, 18, died on Wednesday September 12 when the pallet fell on him in Troon, Ayrshire, at about 9am.

He had been working for ABC Construction, a local building company. The Health and Safety Executive are investigating.

Police said they understood the bricks were being lifted up by a lorry when they fell. Mr Ritson was pronounced dead at the scene.

He lived in Rowan Place, Troon, and was working on a residential property in Southwood Road.
