Ten land places on £50m highways framework

Ten contractors including Costain, Geoffrey Osborne and Colas have won places on a regional highways framework worth up to £50m.

The E7 Regional Highways Framework 2012- 2016 has been awarded by Hampshire County Council and is also used by Kent, Surrey, Brighton, Medway, east Sussex and Southampton councils and is worth at least £30m.

The winning contractors are: Bam Ritchies; Colas; Costain; Dyer & Butler; Geoffrey Osborne; Interserve Construction; Mildren Construction; Raymond Brown Construction; Tarmac and Aggregate Industries.

The framework will deliver schemes worth up to £5 million and any maintenance and improvement work to highways structures worth more than £50,000.

This work could include: Retaining walls and culverts, work on new/ reconstructed/ replacement highway structures, routine footway maintenance and improvement works, sea defence and coastal works and installation of vehicle restraint systems.
