Texaco gets go-ahead for Captain

TEXACO has been given the formal nod to develop the Captain oil field in the North Sea.

Development of the 300 million barrel field has already produced a 65 million order for the French-owned UIE yard at Clydebank in Glasgow.

The Department of Trade and Industry has also given permission to Ranger Oil to develop the Columba D Terrace in the northern North Sea.
