Three eye £62m schools

CONTRACTS EDUCATION

THREE contractors are chasing a £62 million PFI schools contract in Norwich.

Mansell, Galliford Try and Kier have until March 24 to work up bids for Norfolk County Council for a deal to build five primary schools and revamp a high school.

One insider at the Mansell consortium, called Guildhouse Investment Management, admitted: 'The others are bigger but we wouldn't price it if we didn't think we had a chance.'

A preferred bidder is due to be named this September with work starting next June.
