The Bovis-led construction team at the City of London Broadgate project had just two hours to lift a 150-tonne steel girder into place across the tracks at Liverpool Street Station. Steelwork contractor Cleveland Bridge had to have the beam in place by 4.30 am when trains started running again. The beam will support a 13-storey office block being built over the lines.
