Timber firm expands to east London

Sheffield-based timber firm Arnold Laver is opening a new distribution depot at Rainham in East London.

The group's £110 million turnover timber merchanting division Timber World will operate from there.

The site is near the Olympic Games park and the depot will supply the Thames corridor, East London, Kent and Essex. In addition it will have a customer facing call collect facility from this summer.

Managing director Andrew Laver said: "The recent management buy-in provided the platform to allow the group to press on with its expansion plans for its timber merchanting division as well as leisure and property divisions."
